Membership

The Members of St Paul's Church are Christians who have publicly committed to continue to grow in their own faith and to get involved in the mission of God's Church through St Paul's Congregation. What does that mean?

  1. Christian: The bible says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Our statements of faith point to the full teaching of scripture about confessing Christ, not only with your mouth, but by daily living in holy love.. We understand that a Christian not only says Jesus is Lord but is making a credible effort to learn and to live as Christ leads.
  2. Mission: Members know that the Church is not a building, but a gathering of people living for God. They know that God has called them to promote 5 clear missions as part of this gathering:
    1. Worship: Worship is expressing God's worth. ( Worth-ship!) We show our devotion to God by praising him when we gather together and during our daily life. We also count it as worship when we serve others as God desires.  Our lives, lived for Jesus are "A living sacrifice, our spiritual worship" (Romans 12:1-2)
    2. Discipleship: Discipleship is training in Godliness. We seek to become more like Jesus in his holy love. We learn to pray, serve, and be transformed by the renewing of our minds. We also grow as we help others . As Disciples we are also disciple-makers.
    3. Ministry: Members know that God is equipping every one in His family for good works of service with gifts of the Holy Spirit combining with the other gifts that have developed in our lives. We all have roles to play in advancing God's mission.
    4. Fellowship: God wants all people to enjoy the support and encouragement of loving souls, and members now they need one another, and are needed by others. Members seek to build a community of grace.
    5. Evangelism: God wants everyone everywhere to discover his love and accept his offer of new life.  He gave his church the mission to "make disciples of all nations, welcome them into the Jesus' family, and help them learn to live the same new life of love, just as he taught us to do." Matt 28-19-20

The spiritual direction of this congregation church is shaped by its Members who humbly and prayerfully discern, decide and lead together, ensuring that we stay true to our high calling in Christ.
