While Pastor Brian Wilkie is out of town in Pasadena, California, our worship leader, Rev. Derrick Drover, will be leading a wonderful time of uplifting worship with the St. Paul’s Praise Team, followed by his message titled “Joy In January.”

Scripture Focus:  Mathew 27:45–54 📖

"At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split"

This verse teaches that Jesus’ death accomplished something powerful: it brought reconciliation, freedom, and direct access to God something no human effort could achieve.

This passage captures the mocking voices surrounding the crosswords meant to challenge Jesus’ power and identity. Yet, in this moment, Jesus reveals the true nature of His mission. He did not refuse to save Himself because He could not, but because His love was greater than escape, His obedience stronger than suffering, and His purpose was redemption. By staying on the cross, Jesus chose sacrifice over self-preservation, opening the way to salvation for all.
